Responsible to safely operate machines that convey, wash, crush, and screen material.  Operate and maintain front end loaders, dozers, excavators, and other equipment to transport material to feed hoppers or to load trucks


  • Perform daily equipment and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained
  • Safely perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader, crusher, screen and/or wash plant including screen changes, manganese and routine maintenance
  • Safely and properly operate loader and crusher, screen or wash plant
  • May be required to operate additional company vehicle during crusher tear down, moves and set up.  Identify appropriate material
  • Communicate with quality control personnel and make required adjustments to material blends
  • Shovel and/or operate skid steer to remove excess material away from crusher, screen or wash plant unit as needed
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors
  • Accurately complete crushing reports and other documentation as needed
  • Ensure MSHA,  safety and environmental regulation compliance
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Demonstrated commitment to safety. Demonstrated understanding of safety best methods and MSHA requirements
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteously/respectful of others
  • Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail
  • Possess working knowledge and skill regarding the operation and maintenance of various pieces of earthmoving equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work to a high standard of quality and efficiency to meet customer expectations, timelines, and company project goals
  • Flexibility to work overtime hours
  • Physical ability lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Physical ability to access and operate heavy equipment and to safely function in/around work sites. Physical ability to kneel, crouch, bend, and/or reach with hands and arms.
  • Valid US issued driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to pass background and drug and alcohol tests
